Yesterday afternoon, we had a special moment with Sr Wendy Ooi, fsp, who, on behalf of the outgoing general government, gave a crucial update to the assembly on a special project that had been undertaken for our international digital apostolate. The assembly was eager to find ways to advance our mission and expressed strong interest in developing our international collaboration. Our sharing on this topic was helped by the perspectives of don Luca Peyron received during the morning hours.

Being the feast of the Korean martyrs today, we began the liturgy with a solemn procession of hope, carrying with us many intentions for those suffering various forms of violence and for the martyrs of today who still give their lives for the faith. It was an intense moment that deeply touched our hearts.

Sr. Jolanta Kafka, rmi, led our morning reflections on the theme of listening to the cries of humanity in the light of the synodal journey. In an atmosphere of profound listening and silence, we considered the wounds of our time, various forms of social erosion which are present in cultures around the world, and then shone on them lights that emerged during the Synod. This contemplative approach to the needs of our world prepares us well to trace, with concreteness and hope, the paths forward for our congregation in the coming years.
