Greetings for the feast of Saint Francis of Assisi, patron of Italy! It is also the last day of the Season of Care for Creation, established by Pope Francis, and the sun is appropriately warm and shining here in Ariccia today!
As you know, we are full of joy for having elected our general councilors yesterday, completing our election of the new general government. This was done in an atmosphere of great unity and peace, and we truly felt the presence and the guidance of the Spirit. Leaving one’s community—and in many cases their homeland—for six years is no small thing, and we accompany each one with our gratitude, prayers, and sisterly support.
Today we continue the theme of unity by holding meetings by continent to discuss ways of collaborating with one another for life and mission. Though each nation and circumscription is unique and the continents contain much diversity, we are eager to find new ways of strengthening our efforts by working together. We will also begin to plan our ways of sharing the rich fruits of this chapter with our sisters around the world.
We look forward to this process so that all our sisters can feel part of the journey we have lived here together!
