Our day at the Chapter began with a Eucharistic celebration rich in symbolism — a meaningful way to start our time together.
It set the tone for welcoming the report from the General Bursar, Sr. Annamaria Gasser, who shared an overview of our “oikos” — our shared home — with clarity, expertise, and a light, transparent touch.
Sr. Annamaria walked us through today’s global macroeconomic trends and how they are affecting our lives and apostolic mission. Her presentation offered us a broad perspective on our current financial situation, encouraging us to trust in the resources — both human and material — that we have, and inviting us to embrace wise stewardship for a sustainable future that guarantees the continuity of our mission.
In the afternoon, the assembly engaged in a dynamic and fruitful discussion with the General Bursar. Even those among us who find numbers and percentages a challenge felt the importance of “rethinking economy” and reflecting on the meaning we give to poverty — making decisions, even in our personal lives, with love, prudence, and discernment.
