September 19 Information flash

It would be a remiss if we did not begin today’s information with a mention of last evening’s festivities! After supper on Thursday, we spent a very pleasant hour together enjoying music, dance, and games hosted by the sisters of various countries. It was truly a joyful celebration of our cultures and of our sisterhood.

Our day began with a liturgy, rich in color and meaning, animated by the sisters of India, who welcomed our celebrant, don Luca Peyron, and the assembly with a traditional Indian gesture – arathi.

We then devoted the morning to a very thought-provoking lecture by don Luca Peyron concerning evangelization in an era of artificial intelligence. Don Peyron especially considered the Christian anthropology that is so essential to the ways in which we speak about and engage in this new emerging culture. He urged us to consider the ways artificial intelligence impacts our very ways of being human, of relating to ourselves, each other, and to God.

After this, we had a very interesting and engaging moment of interaction with him on what he had shared with us.

We are grateful for don Peyron’s sharing with us today on this very important apostolic theme, and we pray for all those involved in the fields of artificial intelligence, that they may have as their goal the good of the human person.
