Information Bulletin No. 4

Dearest Sisters

At the close of the General Chapter, we want to express our heartfelt thanks to each of you and to every community for your presence, your messages, and the prayers that accompanied us. We experienced this time together with deep commitment and a sense of peace, in an atmosphere of communion that made us feel united and in harmony, among ourselves and with all of you, through the love we share for our congregation and the Pauline mission.

In the first days of October, as you already know, we devoted ourselves to the discernment and election of the Superior General and the six Councilors for the next six years:

Sr. Mari Lucia Kim, Superior General, from Korea
Sr. Gabriella Collesei, Councilor, from Italy
Sr. Bruna Fregni, Councilor, from Italy
Sr. Donald Maria Lynch, Councilor, from the United States
Sr. Rosemary Mueni Mwaiwa, Councilor, from Kenya
Sr. Micaela Pae, Councilor, from Korea
Sr. Rosa Maria Ramalho, Councilor, from Brazil.

We are deeply grateful to these sisters for accepting the service of the General Government, and we entrust them to the Lord, asking Him to bless them with wisdom and love. From the bottom of our hearts, we also thank Sr. Anna Caiazza and the Counselors who served alongside her over the past six years, carrying out their responsibilities with dedication for the good of the entire congregation.

We carry in our hearts the words addressed to us by Pope Leo: “To proclaim and spread the Word, spending your life for the cause of the Gospel following Jesus the Master and seeking ways, tools and languages so that everyone may know and follow the Lord: this is the heart of your apostolate. Faced with the challenges of our time, this needs to be renewed and reinvigorated, so that the evangelical passion that inspires you may find its best expression.”

The Holy Father gave us two attitudes to take: “… Impelled by the fire of the Spirit, listening to contemporary humanity, we communicate the Gospel of hope”. Indeed, while the proclamation of the Gospel remains at the center of the mission, it is equally true that it is not a question of communicating generic information or abstract truths, but of entering into real history, welcoming the questions and concerns raised by real life, speaking the languages of the women and men of our time. I would therefore like to recommend that you adopt, with renewed enthusiasm, two important attitudes: to look up and immerse yourselves.”

He thus concluded, “We must be vigilant to ensure no separation between what we preach and our daily lives. Only in this way will you be faithful to the method of wholeness desired by your founder for the entire Pauline Family: Way, Truth and Life, Mind, Will and Heart. Then this unifying proposal, which appears prophetic in a fragmented world, will be coherent and credible.”

Dear Sisters, we all wish you to continue living the Pauline life with joy, renewing our trust in the Lord who never abandons us, and we greet you with affection, thanking you again for your presence and participation.
